Making Chipotle Steak at home saves me a ton of money since I have a large family. Cooking steak on the grill or in a pan or cast iron skillet helps to give it the best flavor.

How to Make Chipotle Steak

Step 1 – In a blender or food processor, combine the chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, garlic, oil, lime juice, cumin, oregano, pepper, and kosher salt. Blend until smooth to create the marinade.

Step 2 – Place the steak in a large zip-top bag and pour in the marinade. Seal the bag and turn to coat evenly. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or up to 12 hours.

  • Hot Grill – Make sure your grill is fully preheated to achieve a really good sear.
  • Room Temperature Steak – Remove the steak from refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking to allow it to come to room temperature.
